Saturday stories

Some stories from saturday.

Went swimming. It's right around lunchtime, so I usually bring a sandwich to eat right afterwards. Maybe cause of the buoyancy and being horizontal so long around mealtime, but I usually seem to have some acid when I finish. So I pulled it out and took a bite. Didn't taste any of the nutella. Strange, maybe I just didn't get any in that corner. Took another bite. Still, nothing but bread. Took a closer look, and found it was indeed just two slices of bread. How did that happen? I distinctly remembered spreading the nutella.

In superstore, I knew I was getting a lot this time, but was in the store before remembering that you need to pick up the cart from outside. Being lazy, I decided I'd just get by with a basket. But even when I have smaller loads to get, I always end up filling the basket over-full, holding items in solely by the inward pressure of the cloth handles above the basket. This time was worse. much worse. It wasn't filled with things like potato chip bags which would weigh a few grams, it was glass bottles of soy/oyster/teriyaki sauce, it was bottles of tide detergent, it was frozen vegetables, all sorts of heavy things. I was actually sweating from carrying it around. probably had more in there than most people had in their carts. I was ready to give up and head to the cashier, ignoring the few remaining items, when an employee pushing a few carts saw me with my massive basket and some cereal boxes under my other arm, and asked if I needed a cart, and I ashamedly answered uh, actually yeah i do. But at least i was then able to finish my shopping.

Then went to T&T for a few items. Found a really attractive girl there. I think it was the shorts that caught my attention, but it was even better when she turned around, because she wasn't one of -those- people, with tons of makeup and dyed hair and all that. She was actually a normal seeming person, and quite pretty. Anyway, doesn't much matter, just a stranger in a grocery store, don't feel i could do anything to change that. Before leaving the mall, i discovered it had started heavily raining. She was not too far behind, if I'd had an umbrella with me, I'd probably have waited and offered to escort her. I say that jokingly, but realistically I probably would have. oh well.

At least I got a bit of a laugh with the cashier. Some other woman put something on the counter and walked off, it got scanned with my stuff then had to cancel it. Then another clerk was going to take it away with other left-behind items, but had to stop that too. can't really describe it but it was funny. Cashier said "she always do that!" :)

ok maybe that's it for stories.

Mazda 2

Mazda 2 is coming out sometime soon. Kindof like a Yaris, but, I have to say it looks good, definitely more european (like peugots or fiats) and fun vs simply functional. will have to see if they're quality or not. I think they've been out in other parts of the world for a while already.

Tax software

Parents got Quicktax software this year to try. So, I tried my return using it. Admittedly, it generally went faster than doing it myself. But overall didn't result in anything different, and for a little while it was frustrating figuring out how to do something. And I'm not eligible to submit mine online either so it didn't help me in that way either. So, overall I'd say it's ok but not particularly worthwhile for me. Now, for married people or other complex situations, that could be completely different.
