Back on the job

ok I know I haven't said anything about my tours yet, but I'm going to start blogging about current events anyways.

Arrived here and work was immediately hectic and messy. A big problem with the system, had to try to learn about it (not very clear records were kept by a coworker) and try to solve it. At least I wasn't the only one working on it here, since we have a strange staffing situation which has another RFT here. We all figured a particular unit was the problem, but if we touched it, it would mean a whole lot more work for multiple departments in the company. So we kept trying other slim possibilities. The problem would only occur in airborne operations, we could never replicate it in ground testing which frustrated things. Anyways, it seems to have been solved by yesterday's actions, yay! Unfortunately since we did a few things, we don't know which one was the issue.

Because of jumping into stressful work and not getting enough sleep, was pretty unhappy at the beginning. But today things were much better

This evening in the hotel lobby I saw many pretty girls dressed quite nicely so naturally I checked out what was going on. Were a couple chinese weddings in the hotel ballroom. I daydreamed for a minute that someone would invite me to join :) Anyways, one thing struck me as odd, despite how nicely dressed the women were, a lot of the men seemed to just be wearing jeans or be generally not dressed up at all.

The best part of today was meeting up with an old friend... we first met in montreal in 1997 at the chem olympiad. Saw each other again in 2001 when I traveled by myself in Malaysia, and now finally got the opportunity to see each other again!

Another great part of today was as I came into the hotel lobby, I saw a girl and something made me hesitate, and the girl then waved at me! It was someone I met on a day tour in Hanoi last week! Just happened to be at this hotel to drive a foreign coworker to the airport.

At this moment, feeling quite blessed.

Tour end, work start

So am I supposed to write a blog post about close to a month of vacation? Seems like a big task. Photos will sure take a while too.

Meanwhile the work atmosphere I've come back to is a bit negative, hopefully things are better in a few days.
