Richmond

Virginia. Not an asian Richmond this time. Actually it's 58% african-american apparently.

And now, for the third field rotation in a row, I arrived without my luggage!

The reason was fairly clear... the flight went via Chicago, and the chicago-richmond portion got canceled. Thankfully they put me on a flight three hours later, but apparently they didn't put my bag on it. Cause of the long wait in chicago, I requested to be granted access to the airline's lounge (get some food, relax more, use internet) but they said they couldn't. Yeah right, it's their home base! Oh well.

Once I finally got to Richmond, it was really nice... good temperature and light rain giving that really fresh feeling. If it wasn't already the middle of the night I would have hung out and enjoyed it more.

Without luggage, I discovered conditioner works pretty well as hair gel. It also works great as deodorant. And makes a superb toothpaste.

Probably spend about a week here, then it's off to Lincoln Nebraska! Somehow I think I think it'd be nicer to stay here.

28 yrs later

Watched Star Wars Episodes V and VI for the first time last week.

Poor planning

Already I thought it was poor planning, if the company needed two people per platform and had three platforms and were aiming for 7 or 8 personnel. Ended up with 7 personnel. Now we're dropping down to two platforms.

Even if you keep everyone... Take RFT, change "Field" to "Office", and you get ROT.

Last night

I had some deep and interesting thoughts, but they could be misinterpreted and upset someone so I'm not going to write about them :)

Gilbert and Sullivan round 3

As always this time of year Morpheus Theatre presents a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta at the pumphouse theatre, so I went again. This time, Pirates of Penzance. It was great! And it's actually often nicer seeing this type of show from an amateur company, cause they can tweak the lyrics to mention jarome iginla or johnny depp, or even add a whole extra verse by command of the pirate king. Or playing with two rubber duckies during the "paradox" song and then when the song finishes, having a couple guys in white lab coats walk silently across the back of the stage. (though with G&S stuff that could have even been part of the original plan.)

Ran into someone from undergrad there. Which is interesting cause I ran into someone else from undergrad when I went 2 yrs ago. 2 out of 3 occasions is a pretty big coincidence.

Still overall I liked the first time I went most, for Trial by Jury and HMS Pinafore, despite having to go to that one alone.
