Edmonton

Was in Edmonton for the weekend, it was pretty fun. Friday night watched some My Little Pony and He Man that I had obtained. Saturday did some miscellaneous then headed out to Elk Island national park and some geocaching along the way. It was pretty fun! Though Chris' in-car GPS ended up leading us down some gravel roads to a closed-gate service-road park entrance, which left me unimpressed. Started hiking randomly into the woods, but the ground was too boggy due to recent rains, so we went to a proper trail instead. But still managed to get lost! Firstly, the sign to tell us to turn was missing, and we didn't notice the signless post because we were distracted by the bison. Lots of bison in that park (and they leave evidence everywhere!) We also saw beavers, lots of frogs, and a few birds. There was some "quicksand" which we found not particularly quick. A regular to the park let us know where we went off course, and we made it back. We then headed to a lakeside to eat our military rations that we had brought. They were actually pretty good (except the bread!). And there's the coolness factor of them being military rations. Didn't get back to edmonton till after 11:00, but we weren't in a people-stabby car-burny kind of mood. Not big enough sports fans to want to harm others to demonstrate our happiness. Sunday was also just miscellaneous, then unhappily had to return home to calgary. Photos will hopefully go to my hike photo website soon.

Glad you had fun in Edmonton despite the crazy destructive partying on Whyte Ave.
